Adobe Embed PDF API.

Hi,

One quick question: I contacted Adobe's tech support number and was informed Adobe Embed PDF API is only available to Enterprise subscribers. I am an individual subscriber of Adobe's Creative Cloud and have assess to all their apps for $55 per month. This is not clear to me.

Doesn't my subscription include Adobe Acrobat among other apps? Why am I not allowed to use the Embed PDF API feature? This is an important feature that should be available to all subscribers.

Have i misunderstood their tech support? Did he mean I don't have assess to their tech support unless I am an Enterprise level subscriber or did he really mean I can't use the Embed PDF API feature at all?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the support status, but I can say that the PDF Embed API is completely unconnected to Acrobat (except that they both work with PDFs, and that someone has put them both in a box marked "Document Cloud" which includes Acrobat, free things, and things with other payment models).  Tech support does not, so far as I know, include ANY developer support. Tech support also sometimes speculate wrongly, when asked about things they don't support - and the statement "Embed PDF API is only available to Enterprise subscribers" is certainly wrong. I suggest you check the Embed PDF documentation for availability and pricing.

Adobe PDF Embed API is not releated to Adobe Acrobat. Adobe PDF Embed API is freely available with anyone with an Adobe ID (https://www.adobe.io/apis/documentcloud/dcsdk/pdf-embed.html). This is not restricted to enterprise customers nor is it restricted to subscribers of Acrobat. It is free.

Our Tech Support call centers do not generally support APIs as standard level support with your subscriptions. If you have any questions, you are free to ask them on the community here. Is there a specific issue that you are having?

First I wish to thank you for your response to my question. I have been trying to get some support but it's been difficult.

In answer to your question, I have followed all instructions I found online but they haven't worked. The process seemed rather simple. I created the index.html page and placed it along with my PDF file inside a folder in my domain as www.domain.com/folder (I am not posting the name of the domain for privacy reasons). I thought it would display the PDF once viewers navigated to my web address but instead the browser displays an error message that says the following:

"File preview not available

This application domain (http://www.domain.com) is not authorized to use the provided PDF Embed API Client ID."

Someone posted a question asking me what appears in the JavaScript Console. I first had to learn about JavaScript Console but was the able to view it. This is what the JavaScript Console displayed:

This is a great feature and can be a game changer for a lot of users who wish to display documents online. I've tried those flipbooks before but they didn't like them at all. I need to display PDF files online and this is the perfect solution because it displays them in a (1) very pleasant and easy to navigate interface, (2) very sharp and (3) allows you to prevent users from saving and/or printing documents.

Can you help me make this work? What am I doing wrong?

It says "get free credentials".

I have an Adobe ID, but cannot create the a free credential to get a key in order to use and try out the PDF embed API.

Sorry. It's me again. I see I have to sign up for a free 6 month trial. So this option will never be free. I'm sorry I did not see that before. Nevermind.
