Document Generation removing line breaks

I am using the Document Generation tool with a text field that contains line breaks, the json file aslo contains line breaks but when the word document is being generated the linr breaks are being removed and the text is all in one line. How do I kee the line breaks?

The json is "ROB_Special_Conditions__c" : "Test 1 \n Test 2 \n Test 3 \Test 4"

The output is 

Special conditions:

Test 1 Test 2 Test 3 Test 4

I believe this is expected. You can do a quick replace of \n with <br> to add line breaks.
