Many pdf docs result is blank page when using the embed API

I have a rather large document repository and many of the pdf documents sent to the embed API present a blank page. The document is fine in Reader and can be downloaded successfully from the embed API, but it's just not presented in the embed interface. Console logs errors about data corruption.
