PDF Embed API: Two Issues

New Here ,
Nov 30, 2024 Nov 30, 2024
  1.  Issue 1.

"My site, altaalpina.org works in Chrome/Edge, but not Firefox. (both on Windows 11)  In Firefox I get :

This application domain (https://www.altaalpina.org) is not authorized to use the provided PDF Embed API Client ID

  1. Issue 2

My current client ID is registered for `www.altaalpina.org`    But I would like it to also work for the subdomain altaalpina.org.    I created a second client ID registered for the domain `altaalpina.org` at https://www.altaalpina.org/pdfembedtest.html .  My expectation is that a client ID created for a subdomain will work in super-domains.  However it does not work for www.altalpina.org, and displays the same error as the above.

Any guidance on the above is helpful.    The script code is pure vanilla, copied from samples.

Couldn't immediately figure out how to edit, so replying to self.  For Issue 1, I  *can* view the embedded PDF on Android 15 Firefox.   The issue is with Firefox 133.0 (65-bit) in Windows 11.

For issue 2, if you set your key to foo.com, it should work in www.foo.com, dev.foo.com, etc. If you do not see this, send me the URL so I can see.

For issue 1 - ditto - send me a URL. I see a few listed above, but let me know one specifically I can use with FF.

The URLs are included above.

https://www.altaalpina.org/pdfembedtest.html   - this URL has the client ID registered for altaalpina.org.   It does not work if you try to view it with https://altaalpina.org/pdfembedtest.html.

The production site at the URL https://www.altaalpina.org.    It is the reverse.  It works with the URL in the last setence becuause the client ID is registered for www.altaalpina.org.  It does not work with the subdomain URL  (as expected).

Issue #1 (Win11 Firefox) is odd.  With the production site I can view the PDF with the `www` URL (expected).  But I can not view the PDF in any form with the "pdfembedtest" page.

Regards,

Greg

For issue 1, when I hit www.altaalpina.org OR altaalpina.org, both links in the first paragraph, they both fail for me. Can you maybe share a screenshot from our dev portal showing the ID + domain?

I can't understand your second paragraph, but to be clear, it doesn't work for me for either domain.

Consider this thread fixed.  I had a typo in the subdomain version.   Apologize for the waste of time.
