PDF Services API: PDF to Images Operation - Low Image Quality

New Here ,
Nov 03, 2024 Nov 03, 2024

Hello

I'm using this operation to convert my pdf to image :

https://developer.adobe.com/document-services/docs/apis/#tag/PDF-To-Images

The operation works, but the resulting image quality is very low, and there is no option to control the compression level in the API body.

Do you have any ideas on how to disable compression for this operation?

Could you share the source PDF?

Please find attached the sample and the converted version.

This is only a text PDF. When the file includes images, the image quality tends to be very low

I'm confused - why did you share a text based PDF if it works well for you? Can you share a source PDF that does *not* work well?

The text quality also worsens when converted to an image.

Please check the attached file as well, where you will find the source PDF and the converted image.

The text in the converted image is almost illisible and difficult to read .

So yeah, there isn't a way to specify the compression level of the JPG format. What if you try PNG or TIFF?

I tried PNG and TIFF > Same result,

And there is no option to specify compression, this option is available on PDF Operation compress only , i think the issue is related to Assets generation when PDF is converted to image there is a missed option on API to specify compression quality

@Raymond Camden Could you confirm whether anything has changed recently? I’m encountering the same issue when converting PDFs to images using the pdftoimages operation.
