Using old versions of viewer

is there a place listing all the versions of the pdf viewer? I would like to stay on a specific version and update on demand, instead of getting updates automatically

It would seem that this is impossible, Adobe have gone for the "compulsory continuous updates with no fallback" model. What could possibly go wrong?
