Doing a trial of Acrobat Pro DC on my Microsoft Surface Book, all initiated from Adobe's site.

Noticed the installed version is 32-bit but it should be 64-bit. Don't want to click "buy" if it will leave me with the wrong version. Please advise. Thanks.

Turns out that Acrobat Pro DC is only available in 32-bit for Windows. There's a 64-bit version for Mac. Seems silly but that's how it is. From Adobe's site:

Yes. Acrobat runs as a 64-bit application on Mac. Acrobat on Windows is a 32-bit application that can run and has been tested on 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows 7, 8, and 10, and Windows Server 2008 and 2012.

Compliant? Yeah that is unless on your 64bit computer running a 64 bit operating system you happen to launch a 64 bit browser or if you are using a 64 bit application well then reader plugin doesn't work because it appears the Developers for Adobe are still driving DeLoreans, lip syncing "Hungry Like A Wolf", And wearing parachute pants. Hey dev's the 80's called and they want their code back.

Pretty sad when Internet Explorer is more modern than one of your "Flagship" products. Who knows? Maybe Adobe is coding on a speak and spell.

Adobe fell behind when Apple moved from PPC to Intel and once again far far behind on the 64 bit switch.

Maybe all of their Developers came from Corel? ANyways. Saying Acrobat is 64bit compliant is a pretty fat stretch. The Application alone is able to run ALONE on a 64bit OS but as far as inoperability well, that statement is one big fat lie from Adobe. THey have had over 6 years to address this. 64 bit plugin still has yet to make it out development.

So safe to say about any computer made in the past 6 months is most likely 64 bit with Windows 10 and with those specs will run Acrobat in a very limited and handicaped fashion probably until 2020 when Adobe realizes that 32 bit has been obsolete for years.

Nice Job Adobe. One thing to keep people running 32 bit apps just so they can view a PDF using your "awesome 70's tech" plug in.

Hats off to you. Now put down the leisure suit and look around. Time to actually doe some coding and bring your products into this millenium.

Actually, it is 2021 and there is a 64-bit version of Acrobat DC available. See other threads that I have responded to today for information.
