I have 2 laptops both with 64-bit Windows 10, both with 64-bit MS Office 365 and both with the same version of Acrobat Professional.
One of them work fine.
The other is unable to print from Outlook 365 without the program freezing up solid when the "Save PDF File As" dialogue window is displayed. (This is the new laptop which I have just set up!)

I can use the Adobe PDF printer with other parts of Office 365 such as Word ... and with other programs.
I can use other PDF printers (eg. the Microsoft supplied version or a 3rd party one such as Black Ice).
But combination of 64-bit Outlook 365 with Adobe's printer is screwed!
Even the 32-bit Office/Outlook 365 works !!!!!

Has anyone else had this problem?

This is not surprising. Acrobat 9 is very old and not compatible with Windows 10, so problems are to be expected, especially with things that require integration with the OS, like the Adobe PDF printer.

Is there a 64-bit version of Acrobat Professional which is current ?
Or is "Professional" discontinued and superseded by another variant ?
(nb: I don't want the reader )

Your issue has nothing to do with whether Acrobat is 32-bit or 64-bit. Office 365 and newer Windows versions such as Windows 10 are not supported by Acrobat 9, a product that was released in 2008 and hasn't been supported by Adobe for nearly eight years.
That having been said, when you print to the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance, the window for the specification of the location for the resultant PDF file may actually be alive and waiting for your input, but hidden underneath the Outlook window. Try Alt-Esc to try accessing that hidden window.

Nope - that's the window that locks.
But I think I'll upgrade Acrobat

Unfortunately the previous reply to the above question was not an answer to the question - but to the original post.

What I am trying to find out now is if there is a present day successor product to Acrobat Professional V9 and if so
a) what is it called
b) is it a 64-bit package or still 32-bit
Anyone know please ?
Many thanks.

32-bit versus 64-bit makes no difference whatsoever wrt/ this problem.
