Acrobat 8の利用について

正規に購入したAcrobat 8を利用していて、PCを更新したタイミングでインストールできなくなったため、3年前にサポートに相談して有効なAcrobat 8のダウンロード先を教えてもらい、インストールして利用していました。今回またPCを更新してAcrobat 8をインストールしようとしましたが、インストールできませんでした。

どうすればよいでしょうか？

There's nothing you can do. Acrobat Pro 8 is no longer available for sale and the activation servers have been retired.

If all you need to do is view PDFs or add comments to PDFs created by others, you can get the free Acrobat Reader.

If you need to create PDFs, etc., you will have to get a subscription to Acrobat DC Standard or Pro.

Be very careful to read the license agreements and any information on terms before accepting the license for the trial. It is your responsibility to cancel the trial before it ends if you do not intend to subscribe. Adobe automatically starts billing you once the trial ends, and Adobe also automatically rolls subscriptions over each year. Many subscription plans have an introductory pricing that is only good for the first year; the price will increase after the end of that year. Adobe runs sales from time to time with an introductory pricing for subscription plans but, again, the price increases once the introductory year ends.

こんばんは。

linsimsのいうとおり、Acrobat 8は非常に古い製品のため、認証サーバーを停止しました。

(ここまでは既にご存じのことかと存じます)

さらに、2019年末から2020年はじめにかけてのサポートポリシーの見直しとあわせて、

以前は提供されていた、認証不要のインストーラーの提供も停止してしまったようですので、

Acrobat8のインストーラーを入手することは出来なくなってしまいました。

いずれにせよAcrobat 8ではWindowsXPとVISTA、MacOSでは10.4(アップデータ適用で10.5まで)が動作保証されているため、現在主流のOSでの動作は保証出来ないということと、セキュリティ上の脆弱性の問題等も修正されません。今後のことも考えてサブスクリプリプション版のAcrobat DCの導入を検討された方がいいのかもしれません。

お二人のご指摘に補足して、公式の必要システム構成の文書は下記です。

Acrobat Pro 8.1としてですが、いずれにしても現時点ではOSメーカーのサポートが終了しているものばかりで、現行OSが含まれていないことがわかります。

またセキュリティサポートは2011.11.03で終了になるので、Windows 8のリリースよりも前になります。

ソフトのライセンスが永続版であったとしても、サポートが永続ということはありませんし、複雑な構造を持つソフトであればあるほど、動作保証外のOSでは正常動作しないのが普通です。

これはAdobe製品に限らず、ごく一般的な話で考えましょう。
