I am porting over to a new computer system - now running Windows 10. Trying to install Acrobat Pro 8 and after installing twice I am still getting the message:
"A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 Professional cannot continue. Please reinstall the application and try again."
Does anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks,
Karl
acrobat 8's not compatible with win 10.
you can try
uninstalling all acrobat and reader versions
cleaning per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
using compatibility mode to install

after securing your serial number, uninstall acrobat 8 (using the uninstaller)
clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
remove the cache.db file from Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/
restart your computer
follow the steps here to install acrobat 8, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/activation-fails-cs3-acrobat-8.html
if that fails read this, https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2385900

There is a patch that fixes the Flex licensing. I do not remember where on Adobe's site I got, probably the same place I got all the Acrobat 8 incremental updates, but it is called licensing_service_patch. As soon as that is installed Flex stops killing Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro
