Good day All,

A moment of your time if you will.

Acrobat DC give me a "not responding" error and crashes soon after.

I have tried..

1. Restore the Acrobat Preferences folder.

2. Uninstalling Acrobat DC on my desktop. Then ..

3. Reinstalled Acrobat DC from Creative cloud.

The error remains.

Your advice please.

Hey there,

We regret for the inconvenience caused and appreciate that you performed the troubleshooting steps on your own.

Even after uninstalling the Acrobat and resetting preferences it didn't help, then you must try these further steps:

1- If it launches for few minutes and you are able to Navigate to Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected View" and "Enhanced Security">OK>Reboot Acrobat
Note: these changes are only for testing purpose. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.

2- Doesn't makes any difference? Quit Creative Cloud desktop application for some time. Run cleaner tool for the removal: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Once done, download Acrobat installer from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

3- Is it working fine? If not, then create a Hidden Admin account (Win) and Root account for Mac and launch Acrobat in that.

Win: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-enable-the-hidden-administrator-in-wind...

Mac: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204012

Let us know the progress.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi there

A new update for Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC is now available v20.009.20063. Please update the application to the new version. Go to Help > Check for Updates. You may also download the patch manually from the link (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html)and see if that helps.

Also, if you are using the dual monitor setup, please refer to the steps provided in the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/dual-monitor-crash-windows.html)

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal
