Acrobat opening minimized windows

New Here ,
Oct 09, 2018 Oct 09, 2018

Hi,

My installation of Acrobat Pro DC just recently updated. I am currently on Version 2019.008.20071. Since the update I've had unusual and annoying behavior with the windows when opening and closing random PDFs. If I have a PDF minimized, and open another one from a different location altogether, when I go to close it, the other document that was minimized is opened and maximized. Prior to this update I never had an issue with working on one document at a time. I can't seem to find any settings in the Preferences to disable this type of behavior. Is there any way to turn it off? Or even a workaround? Please help!!

Hi Ryanm,

As I was able to understand the issue from the description mentioned above, if you have a pdf minimized (pdf 1 for ex.) and when opening (pdf 2), and closing that pdf,  pdf 1 will maximize, is that correct?

Could you confirm if you have "open documents as the new tabs in the same window" option is disabled under Edit > Preferences > General?

Also, let us know the operating system you are using- Mac or Windows?

Thank You,

Shivam

Hi Shivam,

Yes that is correct. If one PDF document is minimized, it will maximize and become the active window when another PDF is closed.

I checked the setting you suggested and can confirm it is DISABLED. Any suggestions as to what might be the cause? It only started happening after the latest update...Capture.JPG
