Acrobat Pro DC stalls but does not crash

Acrobat stalls for a minute or two when opening the application and continues to stall periodically as I am working. In the title bar it says "(not responding}". Eventually Acrobat finishes the stall and I can work for a moment before it stalls again. This is very time-consuming and frustrating.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

This problems continues and there has been no response from Hohit Anand.

Acrobat is nearly unusable because of this problem.

Does anyone know of an application that I can use instead of Acrobat DC that has similar features?

I will take a guess at this. Have you tried resetting the preferences file. If that did not work, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? Normally Acrobat should be the last application installed and it sometimes causes problems if that is not the case.
