I'm creating a form within InDesign that, when exported to a PDF, the text that end users input appear in bullet format. Is this possible? I've been told that perhaps a JavaScript would be required, but I'm unfamiliar with how to set that up.

Text fields have a limited ability for formatting. The best you can do is probably enable the Rich Text Option, which would allow you at least to do bold, italic, underline etc. text. However, turning text into a bulleted list as the field is filled out is not possible as far as I'm aware.

To insert a bullet character when entering text in a text field:

  • (on Mac OS), press Option-8
  • (on Windows), press Alt+0149

Too bad this link doesn't go anywhere. Providing a link is fine, but you should always put a basic answer in the response for future reference...

Yes, I know it's an old link, that was my point. I can see that there are "lots of posts on the topic." This one matches my question, the others do not. This one said it was answered.... would be nice to know what THAT answer was.
