I was told by an Adobe chatroom monitor that in order to have my problem fixed I must post on this page. According to the rep. Adobe has experts standing by to assist with any problem associated with an Adobe program. I have adobe acrobat 8 professional, it was installed and registered by an adobe rep via remote this past week. However, when I went to use my create a pdf with my acrobat 8 program, I got a pop up message stating: "Missing PDF Maker Files" and it prompted me to attempt to run the installer in repair mode. So, I did, and I got another pop up box stating "program not working." Immediately after that message the previous message popped up again " Missing PDF Maker Files."
Will I be able to get service for an expensive program purchased to ensure all of the products capabilities are working properly

The CS3/Acrobat 8 servers were taken offline for technical reasons. See the correct answer below for details on obtaining a replacement version of Acrobat 8 and a new serial number.

message 1 is important if you try to reinstall acrobat 8.
but for an already installed acrobat 8 re-installation may not help with that error. in any case, before you try a reinstall read this about acrobat x which also applies to acrobat 8: https://www.wincert.net/microsoft-office/missing-pdfmaker-files-adobe-acrobat-x/

Adobe support software for 5 years. This was up long ago. Acrobat 8 has serious problems with recent apps and systems. If you upgrade these you need to budget for upgrading Acrobat.

True. A lot has changed since 2006 when Acrobat 8 was released. In computer terms, using 10+ year old software on modern hardware is a bit like writing on clay tablets. Doable maybe but not optimum.
If you're interested, you can try the latest Acrobat free for 7 days.

So everytime there is an updated version you have to pay yet another fee... doesn't sound too fair to me. Especially if a certain program within the initial program wasn't working from the get go just isn't right.

Old programs really need to be run on a matching old operating system... this is true of BOTH Mac and Windows
If your current computer isn't compatible with your old program, that is the doing of Apple and Microsoft, not Adobe

No. On the old Creative Suite model you had to purchase upgrades. But those days are gone. The Creative Cloud Plan, gives you access to FREE upgrades for as long as you remain a member. That means you have access to all the latest software when you need it.

Did you purchase this application recently? If so you should have done some
research before and you would have found out that it's very old and not
compatible with any current OS.
If you can return it, do. If not, you got an expensive lesson for the
future...
