Hi, your latests version of Adobe Acrobat crashes when I click on the text tool to insert text. This should not happen with the latest version on mac OS Mojave with Adobe CC. This product is unreliable and keeps crashing too often for a subscription product. Please make changes or adjust the pricing. This is just one of many crash triggers since I'm using the CC products. I did not receive a reply on my last comment regarding AFX.

This shouldn't happen in any version of any OS. However, software will never be free of bugs. Since it runs fine for most users of the same MacOS version it's most likely caused by your PC setup. I'm not familiar with the Macs, but does it have some kind of event logging like Windows which could probably give a clue why it crashed?

If several apps in different version crash on your Mac, it even more seems to be a general problem of your Mac. But it could be so many reasons. Where to start?

Hi Agavicsori,

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the trouble.

As the application is crashing, please ensure that it is updated to the latest version. To check that, go to Help > Check for updates.

Try the troubleshooting steps suggested in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html

If that does not help, reset the application preferences with the help of the steps suggested here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792...

If the issue still persists, please share the Acrobat version. To check the application version, use the following steps: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html. Also, share the step by step workflow that result in application crash. It would be helpful if you can share video of the issue occurring at your end.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

I am using the same version of macOS and the lastest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on it, and cannot reproduce your problem. That means that it's something that has to do with your setup. The first thing I would try is to log in as a different user on your computer (if you only have one user set up, that would require to create a new user), and try the same steps that cause the crash. If it does not crash, that again points to your specific user setup. If it does crash, it points to a problem with the software installation. If it's a problem with the insatllation, the first thing I would try is to uninstall the software and reinstall. I actually did that today with a different piece of software, which keeps on hanging on my Mac (it was SketchBook from AutoDesk), which fixed my problem. If this does not work, then you unfortunately have to do a bit more work. It sounds like you are using Adobe CC, that means that you will have to remove all of CC to do a full re-install. Adobe has an application that "cleans" your computer from any traces of CC from your computer: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

If it turns out to be a user specific issue, I would start by removing Acrobat's preferences file from the Library/Preferences folder in your user folder. You can find instructions to do that here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-preference-settings-in-acrobat/td-p/6499709?page...
