Adobe Acrobat for Windows - getting rid of that pesky toolbar

When I open a document in AA there's always this toolbar with a black background that seems to pop up or disappear on its own accord. I've found that I can use one of the function keys to move between the top and bottom of my screen, but is there a way to hide it, at least until I actuallly want to use it? As it is, it is a distraction from reading the documents I'm trying to read.

Regards, David
