Adobe Acrobat Pro DC crashes while trying to embed video files

I didn´t find any useful workaround. It always crashes when trying to embed video files to a pdf.

I tried with mov, mp4 and even gif files and it always shuts down. I am on a Macbook Air 2018.

All softwares are up to date.

What can I do?

Hey colomascali,

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused. As shared, Acrobat is crashing when embedding a video within PDF file. We'd like to know if its causing trouble only when-

1- Adding a specific video to the file or with a particular file

2- Have you tried embedding video to any other PDF file?

Try the following suggestions and see if that makes a difference-

Note: these changes are only for testing purpose. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi there,

I have already tried the security suggestion but it didn´t work.

The failure happens with any pdf file and when trying to embed video files like mp4, mov, or even gif. None of them work and it always crashes Acrobat.

Same issue here.  Tried changing the security settings as well.

I open a PDF, click Rich Media, Add an MP4, click the Play Button and the program shuts down.  Always.  No Warning.  Is there a way to embed a video or not?  It seems like a simple task if Google Docs can do it.

Is there any update on this?  I have exactly the same problem.

Thanks

(Animated) GIF has never been supported in the PDF format.

MOV is no longer supported for several years (since Apple stopped supporting QuickTime for Windows).
