Adobe Acrobat X broke trying to upgrade

Hi.  I've been happy using Adobe Acrobat X for years, even though it's 10 years old now.  I made the mistake of running the upgrade program which only served to make my saved documents become unreadable to people I send them to.  You get a message like "Content not here yet."

So I tried to fix it by installing Reader.  Didn't fix it.  Uninstalled Acrobat and Reader and reinstalled Acrobat X.

Now my saved documents work again, but the problem is in trying to print a web page to PDF.  It just hangs there, probably in a Distiller step, saying it's creating output but goes nowhere.

Distiller is also Pro version 10.0.

How do I fix this?  I resent the idea of a forced upgrade.
