Adobe Application Manager Pop-Up Issue

Explorer ,
Jul 22, 2017 Jul 22, 2017

Every time I open any Adobe program on my computer, I get the message:

Adobe Application Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged. Please download a new copy of Adobe Application Manager from [address].

I've tried downloading a new Creative Cloud, but when I ran the exe. it just opened my current Creative Cloud. I don't want to go uninstalling it before I try installing the new one because I don't want the situation to get worse. I can still currently open all my files, it's just that every single time I do, I get a new box with the message appearing. If I open 20 files, 20 boxes open on my desktop which I have to close, sometimes 2 per file, and it gets to be a pain. Sometimes when I close them, they also close the program, though that doesn't always happen.

I moved my SSD to a new computer recently and everything seemed to come across fine. Though after the transfer, I started getting a message telling me to sign into Adobe for a trial of all the programs, despite the fact that I was already signed in. I no longer get that message, but something tells me it's related to the same issue, something not reading my account details properly?

If someone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

transferring your programs instead of properly installing is, almost certainly, the problem's cause.  if the problem isn't onerous enough to justify a proper installation, live with it.  if you want to fix it:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 3 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

I didn't transfer my programs, I took my SSD out of my old computer (which has all my programs installed), cloned my HDD (which has all my files), and put them both in my new computer. It is essentially my old computer with faster parts, and no other programs have had any issues. And why should they? It is the same SSD.

There has to be a better solution than uninstalling everything, restarting and reinstalling everything. That is a very onerous solution to a window popping up. The window is annoying, but not so annoying that I want to risk further problems or losing my preferences.

PS. I've just discovered the issue only happens if I open a file from my desktop/Windows Explorer. If I open a file using File > Open it doesn't happen, nor if I click on a recently opened file from the list that InDesign displays when there are no files open.
