I recently replaced a computer.  New computer has Windows 10, Adobe Pro XI and Office 2010.  When saving an email to a PDF using the Adobe plug-in, the file name no longer defaults to the email subject line.  It now defaults to mail.pdf.  How can I get it to default back to the subject line?  Thanks in advance.

Hi City ofn,

As per the issue description mentioned above, filename doesn't default to email subject line when converting an email to a pdf using Adobe PDF plugin in Outlook, is that correct?

Could you try rebooting the machine once if you haven't already and check. If that doesn't work, check if an update is available for Acrobat using "Check for updates" option under "Help" menu, reboot the machine after installing update and try again. You may also download updates from here: Adobe - Acrobat : For Windows

Also, try restoring pdf maker settings to default using Adobe PDF tab in outlook > change conversion settings >

restore default ( in the bottom-left corner) > click OK > relaunch Outlook and try again.

Also, let us know dot version of Acrobat installed on the machine? You may refer to the steps given in this link on how to check the version: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Let us know if you need any help.

Yes, that is correct.  Instead it defaults to mail.pdf.  I have rebooted the machine.  I have reloaded the machine from scratch (it's an important issue to my user).  No updates needed.  I tried your advice on restoring the defaults under the Adobe PDF tab in Outlook, restarting outlook but it still defaults to mail.pdf.

My Adobe version is 11.0.20.

I believe we have found that it is not an adobe issue.  We just received a new Windows 10 computer and have it loaded with Office 2016/Adobe Pro 2017 and it has the same issue.  I believe it is an issue with the latest release of Windows 10.  Hopefully they can find a solution.

Hi City ofn,

You may try repairing Outlook and check if that helps. You may also try updating Acrobat to version 11.0.23 using this link Adobe - Acrobat : For Windows
