Adobe XI on Mac Color/Background Missing from PDF

Hello, 

Any help would be appreciated.

I have Adobe XI Pro 11.0.23 on Mac 10.12.6

I have a PPTs that I exported to PDFs which has a color background ppt template etc

When other people open the PDFs - one on PC and one on Mac - they are ok.

When I open it on mine with XI - the color/background is missing,

Is there some sort of setting I need to select?
