Auto Detection of URLs

New Here ,
Nov 26, 2019 Nov 26, 2019

Hi,

I export PDFs from my CAD software. Some texts in there are URLs to webpages. The URLs are clickable in Acrobat Pro DC, but if I send the PDF in an email and someone opens it on their iOS device, the links won't work.

What I have to do is, once the PDF gets created from the CAD software, I have to open it in Pro DC, use the "Edit PDF" tool, "Link" and "Auto-Create Web Links from URLs". That will turn all URLs into real links which then work on iOS.

My question is: Can we automate that "Auto-Create Web Links from URLs" function ? Everytime I open a PDF that contains URL in my Acrobat Pro DC, it would run that function right away ?

I just don't want all designers to have to go through an extra step to make sure those links work.

Thanks !

Like most PDF reader software, Acrobat automatically detects URLs using a GREP search, but the iOS PDF reader does not.
