Can I add a 'non-digital' signature field in a fillable form that will be available on a website

Hello,

I would like to add a 'non-digital' signature field on my fillable form. This form is to request a permit for the city and we want to post the form on our website. I do not want users to enter a digital signature when they fill in the form, I just want them to sign (as with Adobe Sign) but I will not send the file for signature.

In short, my question is how can I get the signature field from the 'Fill and sign' tool into my fillable form prepared with the 'Prepare form tool'

Thanks

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

When you create a form using Prepare form tool in Adobe Acrobat, you get to add different types of field. For signature, there's only option is to add Digital Signature filed. So that the signature would be validated. (for security concern)

Since you have requested, not to assign a form filed to the signer and keep it for simple signing. There's one thing you can try-

  • Simply add a Text Filed and name it to Signature [or whatever you wish to add]
  • When user will open the fillable form, with the help of "Fill & Sign" tool can add the signature.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Thank you for your quick reply.

I just realized that Adobe Sign can also be used to create fillable forms from Word documents. That may be what I need to do.

Is Adobe Sign included in my package?

I believe the feature for requesting signature using the Fill and Sign tool in Acrobat is a feature from Adobe Sign.

But can I use Adobe Sign entirely to convert Word to PDF or PDF to forms the same way I do with DC Pro?

For me, if I Create a PDF form from a Word.docx and I typed the word Signature in front of the box or line, Adobe makes it a Digital signature that must be routed (emailed and tracked).  However, if in Word the name was Sign, the Adobe treats it as another normal field.  I also change that field font to "Segoe Script" wish is the sugested curseve font.

Why haven't you added a signature field where you can draw in a signature like Docusign has? Seems a bit outdated that Adobe doesn't provide this simple form field function options, especially for the price you charge preople to use your program.

Hi @Adobpee,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

The feature to configure the type of signature is available on the enterprise level for Acrobat Sign.
