Acrobat DC version 19.21.20049.354971, macOS. When using File > Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF, and choosing two jpeg files that I've confirmed are 6750  ×  5250 @ 600 ppi (i.e. should display as 11.25" × 8.75"), Acrobat creates a PDF with a page size 93.75" 72.92" – which is the size those images would display as if they were 72 ppi. Further, opening the resultant PDF in Illustrator and clicking on the images shows that they've been redefined as 72 ppi.

How can I make Combine Files "obey" images' ppi settings?

Background / further info: This is similar to another Acrobat forum topic, but the answers veered off into inspecting images' ppi settings and "why would you do this". I'm already aware of workarounds / that this little cul-de-sac of a problem is stupid – what I want to find out is if Combine Files can be made to work as described.
