Starting yesterday, I am unable to combine files into a single PDF. I have two PDF files to combine and it says the files are not supported. I have tried different PDF files, tried Word files. All get the same error. I have tried different web browsers, all with the same error.

What's the exact version number of the application (You can find it out by going to Help - About Adobe Acrobat)? What's your OS version?

Hi Lori

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to combine the PDFs and getting the error 'files not supported' and that you are getting the same error with different files.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer once and check if that works.

If the file is stored on a shared network/drive, please try to download and save the file to your computer locally and then try to combine and check.

You may also try to turn off the protected mode for testing (Win Only) Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at startup' Turn Off the Protected mode and Uncheck 'Enhanced Security' > Click OK and reboot the computer

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risks.

If it still doesn't work, please create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

Regards

Amal
