I have a Adobe Acrobat X Standard from 2011 that I just reinstalled on a new pc. I used to be able to combine PDF documents in Adobe Acrobat X Standard but apparently no more. Can this really be true?? Do I now have to buy (with a monthly fee) Adobe DC to be able to combine two PDF files?

What happens when you attempt to run this command? Is there an error of some kind?
Also, what's your OS version? Acrobat X is not compatible with Windows 10, if that's what you have.

Ok.. Then it's most likely a Windows 10 issue. Thanks for your quick reply though.. ![]()

You can try in Acrobat:
File > Create > Combine Files ...

It isn't a windows 10 issue. I have windows 7 - same problem. I used to be able to do this for free but now it asks me to pay for PRO version. Why should i have to do this?

You probably also have Reader and it's associated with your PDF files instead of Acrobat.

Can i combine files with reader? I don't know how to do that? It used to be so easy before. "Insert Files". "Delete Pages". Now that is all gone unless i pay a monthly fee to do something i just do 5-6 times per year.

No, you can't, and you never could. If you did it in the past it wasn't with Adobe Reader.

Correct. It wasn't with reader. But i could do it before with whatever acrobat program i had to convert files to PDF. now i can't. and i didn't have any sort of paid subscription before.

You need to double-check what application you're using now. My guess is it's Reader (also known as "Acrobat Reader" now, unfortunately).

When I look at what i have, I see:
> Acrobat Reader DC
> Adobe Acrobat Distiller XI
> Adobe Acrobat XI Standard

I see now that I can do it with ADOBE ACROBAT XI STANDARD. Thanks for having patience with me. Don't know why this is so complicated.
