I work with subcontracts for construction and we encountered an issue today. We received a subcontract to be reviewed and executed. We in turn, red-lined some items within the document and added comments. For instance in the document, it stated payment terms that did not meet our acceptable, so we red-lined the language and added a note above the section with our language. At the end of our review, we utilized the fill and sign function and signed and dated the document. It was then sent to our customer to be executed on their end and returned to be filed. The document that was returned to us had some of the notes I added changed, but in the comments section it does not show that someone changed the note. In hopes to eliminate the need to review everything that comes back for accuracy, is there a way to achieve the protection from someone changing my notes?
