Comments preview not staying open while hovering

Community Beginner ,
Apr 14, 2017 Apr 14, 2017

When I hover over a comment in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, typically the comment preview opens up. This is not the full comment box that opens when I double click, it is a smaller box that opens up directly over the comment box. I prefer using this. However, after the recent update, the box only opens for 1 second, and then dissappers as the box changes to show me the page number I am on. This is really frustrating.

Also, while hovering, longer comments are typically cut off. Can both of these issues be changed?

Thanks!

Hi william16,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Assuming you are using Windows operating system on your machine. Try launch Reader/Acrobat > Edit >Preferences> Commenting.

Make sure "Ensure that pop-ups are visible as the document is scrolled " this is checked.

Let us know if that helps.

Tariq, Adobe won't let me respond to your reply. That did not help. In fact, that function has nothing to do with the issue. That simply ensures that when a comment is clicked on, or automatically opened on rollover (which I don't want), that the comment box stays within view. I want the comment boxes to show me a preview on rollover. I don't want the entire box to open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and it still does not work.

Hello william16

Assuming that you are using a Windows machine, please use the Adobe Cleaner tool to remove the Adobe Reader, download Cleaner tool from Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Restart the machine, and then install the Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

This did not work and Adobe is still having the above issue. The preview comment stays open for some files but for most, it changes to showing me the page number after a second.
