Hi Tobias,
We are sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to create the PDF from Excel file and getting the above error message.
What is the workflow/steps you are doing to create the PDF? Please try to create the PDF from the Acrobat ribbon present in the MS Excel and check.
If the Excel file is stored on a shared network/drive, please download the file to your computer locally and then try to create the PDF. For more information about creating the PDF please look at the steps here https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/how-to/create-pdf-files-word-excel-website.html
Also, please try to repair the installation (Windows Only) from the help menu and see if that makes any difference. Go to Help > Repair Installation.
If it still doesn't work, please turn off the procted mode for testing (Windows Only) Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable protected mode at startup' , turn off the protected mode and uncheck enhanced security > Click ok and reboot the computer.
Note : Turning off the security may possess security risk, please turn on the security after testing.
Let us know how it goes
Regards
Amal
