Converting word footnote numbers to pdf not working

When exporting a word file with headers that have footnote numbers using Acrobat XI Pro, the names of those headers are incorrect.  My word header for example might say Table X with the number 12 as superscript right next to the Table X, where 12 is the footnote number.  Well when I say create Adobe PDF and then go to the Bookmarks, the Bookmark header for this Table now reads: Table X12F......Does that mean I cannot have any footnote numbers in a header as Adobe grabs those numbers are well and throws them into the name of the bookmark header? Anyway around this??? Grrr.....

First of all, I've moved your question to the Creating PDFs forum, where it more belongs.

How are you exporting the Word file to PDF, exactly? What command are you using?

Also, what version of Office do you have, and what OS?
