Create bookmarks automatically

I have a bunch of pdfs without bookmarks.
The goal is to create the missing bookmarks automatically.
It is not possible to create bookmarks using Bookmarks > Options > Create bookmarks from structure, because this link is deactivated.
Is there an other way to generate bookmarks automatically, or using a tricky workaround?
Appreciate your help!

Bookmarks can be created using a script, but you'll need to clarify what you mean by "automatically". Should the bookmark structure in each file be exactly the same? If so, it's relatively simple. If not, that becomes a much more complex task...

The bookmark structure should just reflect a hierarchical structure. If this is meant with "exactly the same structure", the answer is "yes".
I've got headings and subheadings and wish to generate bookmarks out of them.
Manually means: marking each heading, subheading, sub-subheading and define it as new bookmark individually.
Automatically means: letting the marking and generating done by computer.
Scripting: is not yet my playground. But let's have a try.
Edit: "adding tags" > how is this done? Can it be done automatically?

In the navigation panel "Tags" use "Add Tags to Document".

Adding tags: possible, but ...
I tried it.
The result: Every paragraph is tagged with <p>, sometimes even nested.
Sorry to say, but in this case creates the tagging only nonsense.

It doesn't sound like it's going to be exactly the same in each file... By "exactly the same" I mean it contains the same bookmarks, in the same order, pointing to the same page number, in each of the files.

@try67: it is not exactly the same in each file.
So, I'd like to handle each file for its own and generate bookmarks for it.
How could I accomplish it?

There's no simple answer to that question. It might be possible using a script, but you will need to define very clearly based on what the bookmarks should be created. If you wish I'm happy to look at some sample files and let you know if I think it's doable, and if so, how much it will cost. You can send them to me to try6767 at gmail.com.

I want to use text from the same location on each page of my document to create a bookmark, how would I go about doing that? I basically want to create a hotspot, assign it to every page, and use the text inside the hotspot to create a bookmark for that page.
Help is appreciated!

As stated above, this can also be done using a custom-made script. I've developed many similar tools for my customers, so feel free to contact me privately and I would create one for you as well.

This option will come active when you add tags to the document.

Try this if you're working from Word.

This course is now 'hidden' - any other sources?
