Creating a form using Excel for drop down options

I am attempting to create an interactive Certificate form in Adobe. I would like to know if I can and if so HOW to use a field in an Excel Spreadsheet for the choices in a drop down menu. My Excel spreadsheet has 5 columns. I want to use one of them for the recipient's name. The recipients are new and repeat. The training I do is an annual certification. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Copy that one column to a text file and then you would be able to use a script to import it into the drop-down field.
For example, I've developed this tool that allows you to do it: Custom-made Adobe Scripts: Acrobat -- Import Items from a Text File to a Combo-Box or List Field
It also has a feature that saves the text file as an attachment to the PDF, so you could easily edit the list in the future, if needed.
