I have a new laptop and need to deactivate and reinstall Acrobat X Pro to move it over. It never let me register the product and even now says "Could not register your product at this time. Try again later." I do not have the serial anywhere. I need help to get this moved over please.

first secure your serial number:
windows: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
mac: https://mac-product-key-finder.com/
once you've secured that you can deactivate (help>deactivate) from the old computer and then uninstall it.
then install acrobat x pro using the installation file(s) and activate with your serial number.
Single-User Downloadable installation files available:
Download and installation help for Adobe links
Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages. They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3. If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

My Adobe Acrobat X does not have a Deactivate option in the Help menu.

Then you can't deactivate it... Is it maybe part of a volume license?

Could be. I was able to activate it two years ago, but can't now.

We can't really help you with this issue, then, but if you still have the installer and serial number you can try activating it on a new computer. If it fails you'll need to contact Adobe directly and ask for an activation count reset.

When trying to deactivate Adobe Acrobat X Pro I get the message "Please connect to the Internet, then press Continue"
After pressing continue the same message appears. I am connected to the internet through no VPN or Proxy.
I have my serial number. Any suggestions?

confirm that you can connect to the secure adobe servers by reading, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
do you see both logos? if you can and still see a connection error try these steps, https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/common-network-connectivity-issues.html
if those all fail, white list the adobe network endpoints, https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/network-endpoints.html

I was able to resolve this and wanted to share what I did for others it may help. I installed Acrobat X Pro on another PC using the same network connection, activated it, then deactivated successfully. Once that was complete I tried again on the original 7 year old installation in question and it deactivated successfully.
