Using Acrobat DC
I created form which will be sent to customers outside our company. I want them to be able to complete the form, print and then be able to save a filled-in copy to their own computer for future reference or change. Also, I want staff to be able to complete the form, if needed, but not overwrite the original on our network. At this time, the internal drive where our forms are housed is not read-only. Staff has Acrobat DC Reader, uncertain as to which version of Reader an outside customer may have.
I have encrypted in DC with Password (to edit), and allow printing and form fill-in. I also set the file in Windows to "read-only" in order to force a save-as with a different name. Then I saved the file as "Reader Extended PDF". I can no longer access the document to review/change the security. (luckily, I'm working on a copy and my original is safe in another directory!).

It looks to me that the same permissions can be granted in Acrobat DC without saving as Reader Extended. Was RE for use with older versions of Acrobat? Do I need to do both?
Thanks so much for your advice!
Michelle

Thank you so much!!! Now one more question......how do I mark your response as "answered"? I marked my original as a question, but I don't see an answered button. When I click on Actions, it doesn't open and just revolves.
