Is it possible to: Attach the "active pdf form" to an email, change the name of the attachment according to two text fields within the form and email this to a dedicated recipient address on selection of "Submit" from a dropdown list.  I have looked at "Dynamically setting a submit by e-mail address using Acrobat X and XI, dated 2013" which details attaching the pdf, not the renaming, and wondered if it will work with Acrobat Pro DC.

"Submitting" by email is not something I can recommend. Robust solutions will use a web script.

Yes, that is all possible. However, automatically saving the file under a specific name requires installing a script on the local machine of each user. The rest can be achieved using a script that's only located in the file itself.

I am trying to avoid installing individual scripts, if I can. Can the attachment name be adjusted within the email send function or does this form part of the protected suite of functions.

No, the attachment name can't be changed. It's always the name of the file.
