Error message when trying to add page number

I keep receiving the attached error message when trying to add page numbers to the footer of each page. it worked previously but is now causing issues

Could you also show us a screenshot of your Add Header/Footer dialog box?  It might(?) help troubleshoot why you are getting the error.
