This is what I get when I export a handwritten image in a PDF to powerpoint, word or excel (all do the same thing) from Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. The whole page should look more like what the last 1/3 (roughly) looks like. How do I fix?

I solved the problem. If you go to Edit/Preferences then choose "convert from PDF" and then choose PowerPoint, Excel, or Word (whichever you want), the settings include "Run OCR if needed:" which appraently is True by default. The converter was running OCR on my handwriting before exporting it, and it was having a few problems with my (very neat?) handwriting. When I make "Run OCR if needed: False", then export the page, everything is fine.

Hi Geoffrey

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described the handwritten text when exported to (Ms PowerPoint,Word,Excel) gets corrupted as shown above.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.01.20135 and reboot the computer once. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

What is the workflow/steps you are doing to export the PDF to PowerPoint?

I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end as described below and its working fine. Please try to export a different handwritten PDF to PowerPoint and check if it is working fine or not. Open the PDF > Tools > Export PDF > Microsoft PowerPoint > Export.

You may also try to export the PDF online using the link https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/acrobat/pdf-to-ppt and see if that helps.

Also, please check for any missing/pending updates for MS office and try updating it and reboot the computer and see if that makes any difference.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal
