I have a User who is experiencing a ton of latency when trying to switch between open files.  I have ran Repair on both Pro DC and CC, and checked the Security Settings.  His CPU and RAM are nominal, so I cant see why the files are causing so much delay.  Can anyone help me with this?

Hi Hirschia

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, User is experiencing a ton of latency when trying to switch between open files.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different set of PDF files and check.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC he is using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.01.2045 installed and reboot the computer once.

If the file is stored on a shared network/drive, please download and save the file to the computer locally and then try to open with Adobe Acrobat DC and check.

If it still doesn't work, please try to turn off the protected mode for testing (Windows Only) Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at startup' Turn off the protected mode and uncheck 'Enhanced Security' > Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risks.

If it still doesn't work, please reset the Acrobat preferences to default as described in the help page: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792... and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't work, please create a new test user profile with full admin rights on Windows and try using the application there and check.

Regards

Amal

how are these files accessed? Is this happening in a network with shared folders, a cloud service, mapped netwrok drive?

Or are these PDFs accessed from a hard drive locally in a stand-alone computer?
