File Duplication instead of overwrite

When scanning and creating new files and trying to overwrite the original file Adobe is creating a new file so that I end up with two files instead of one.  No message pops up asking if you want to replace the existing file. We have Adobe 2020. Any ideas?

Yes. The problem is over-writing exsting files with the same name. Adobe automatically creates a second file.
