Hi All, When trying to decrease file size in Acrobat XI... It Doubles in size instead???
1 - First I run the file through the "Enhancement" steps
2 - I "Save as Other" > Optomized PDF
Lets say after clean up this reduces file size to 50 MB.
I then run it through the "Save as Other" > Reduce PDF size.
Here is where the confusion really comes into play....
After running is and hitting the "Save" button..... It askes the following...
- (Do you want to remove hidden info).... "Of course" reduce file size!
- Do you wanr to remove - Meta Data + Hidden Text + Deletewd or Cropped Content + Overlapping Objects?) ... Of Course reduce file size even more !!! I do this and save (Hoping for 25MB or less?)
PROBLEM ---- New saved "Reduced file" now jumps up to 100 MB ????? Whats up with that???
Any advice Greatly Appriciated !!!
Thanks Mattee
I guess as I am learning Acrobat XI better... I'll stick to enhance --- then optomize, and stop there for now. Still trying to figure out the vast different "Output" qualities I am getting, trying the "Same" steps? Thanks for the lesson regarding the Reduce File Size option!

Reduce File Size isn't a magic extra button. It just runs Optimize PDF with built in (and unknown) settings. So you never need to run it, or gain from running it, if you've already used the optimizer with carefully chosen settings. (For example, why were you leaving hidden data...?)
