Filemaker Pro and Container fields not working well together

Running Microsoft Windows 10 Pro with Filemaker Pro 19

In previous versions of filemaker pro and earlier versions of windows container fields would hold PDF's and one could access all of the Adobe tools to view and print documents without leaving Filemaker.

Adobe XI Pro was the version used. In the last few releases of Filemaker Pro (17,18,19) the files would not stay in the container fields but would launch in Adobe and leave the Filemaker app. Filemaker (Claris) said a workaround was to install Adobe DC Reader and leave the full version of Adobe XI Pro also installed. This actually worked until we upgraded to Filemaker 19. Now if DC Reader is installed the PDF will stay in the container field but all of the tools are disabled. If DC Reader is uninstalled it goes back to launching the PDF into Adobe app and will not show up in the container field. Strangely, I have one computer that still works and it has the exact same updates and files as all of the other CPU's on the network. Both Claris and Adobe have been consulted on this and no one can figure it out.

Am I the only one out there with this issue or have others seen this?

We rely heavily on storing PDF's in our operation and this is causing quite a bit of grief.
