Fingerprint scan script

Is it possible to add a fingerprint script to scan a fingerprint into a PDF?  I have a fillable PDF that requires an electronic signature by the client.  I would like to add a fingerprint scan to add authenticity to the user’s signature.

You can have a plugin developer create an extension to the signature api that will allow for a fingerprint scan and extend whatever calls are necessary to the JavaScript API.

Adobe should add this feature to their digital signature options.  i.e. "Enter password or scan fingerprint".  How is it that this is not already an option?
