I am very new to adobe and wanted to write some Javascript that would add up the inputs from users on a pdf file and display the results on another page. This is easy in excel because there are defined rows and columns to use in formulas. I am unable to find a similar breakdown of page elements in an adobe pdf file that I am trying to write javascript functions for.

With Acrobat Javascript you can access the content of form fields. At Tools > Prepare Form you can see the names of the fields.
