How do I re-enable form fields

I'm filling out a acrobat pdf bank loan doc with form fields and I've been periodically saving as I go. After I closed, then reopened the file, I've noticed a couple errors in some fields and it's not allowing me to edit/change the text.

The form fields are no longer blue and it seems to have saved as a completed file.

Does this happen after I add signatures to the doc? that's the only thing I've done different.

Thank You

Signing will lock the form fields. Try clearing the signature field.

Thanks Bernd. That didn't work though. Cleared all signatures, saved, closed and re-opened and the blue form fields are no longer active. Unable to edit.
