How to remove adobe plugins with Acrobat

How do you remove Adobe plugins?  what would cause a machine to get the error - Failed to send DDE when opening Acrobat?

Please confirm the version of your Acrobat?

Please open task manager and close all the Adobe Acrobat instances.

Taskbar> Task manager >Close all the Adobe Instances running at the background.

and try again.
