Hi Cathe,

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to fill the PDF form  and getting the dots.

We need some more information for a better understanding:

- Would you mind sharing the workflow/steps you did to do the dot thing?

- What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.01.20145 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, please try to repair the installation (Win Only) go to Help > Repair Installation and see if that works.

If it still doesn't work, please try to reset the Acrobat preferences to default as described in the help page: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792... and check

Regards

Amal

Just to clarify what's happening to you...

When you type inside a form field, you see dots instead of the actual text?

If so, it's because the form field was designed to use a specific font and your computer doesn't have that font. Whoever gave you the form needs to build the form correctly. There's not much you can do on your end.

Dots usually indicate a Password entry field. This is an option for text fields during the design process, but not for the user during filling.

So what exactly do you mean by the "dot thing"? Be very specific. Screen shots help.
