Hyperlink - Web Link vs File

I'm currently creating a PDF document and I wish to have a large number of links on the page to separate PDF files (stored on internal server).

When the hyperlinks are to 'open web link' as below:

2021-01-22 09_57_10-Untitled-126.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.png

a user will always receive a security warning when a link is clicked:

2021-01-22 09_58_16-Untitled-126.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.png

When a hyperlink is 'Open a file', the user receives no warning and the file is immediately opened:

2021-01-22 09_57_33-Untitled-126.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.png

Is there a way to convert the web links to file across an entire document?

Alternatively, is there an Adobe programme that can export PDFs with the file link? I have tried to use inDesign but, even though the links are to a file, they are exported a web links.

Thanks

1. Yes, but not within Acrobat. This can be done using a stand-alone tool. I've developed similar tools in the past for my clients so if you're interested in something like that feel free to contact me privately via [try6767 at gmail.com] to discuss it further, including the price.

2. Sure, but it depends entirely on the application that is creating the PDF. I would ask about InDesign's capabilities in the InDesign forum.
