I'm creating medical brochures in InDesign with at the bottom a hyperlink to an online article.

When the hyperlink contains brackets, the url stops at that bracket. All information after the bracket is ignored, so the hyperlink doesn't work in the browser.

For instance: when I click on the the following link: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(19)32556-5/fulltext, the part (19)32556-5/fulltext is ignored and the hyperlink I click will be https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736

When I hover above the link the yellow box shows only the abbreviated hyperlink, leaving it useless.

Is there a way the create a PDF where the COMPLETE hyperlink leads me to the right internet page?
