I have reinstalled Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and having problems

Cannot open more than one document at the same time.  When I try to open a second document, the first document closes and nothing happens.  Then I have to retry to open the second document again.

This is a problem because when I try to extract a page, or insert a page, it results in all pages closing, without being saved.

How do I make Times Roman font the default font for editing?

Acrobat XI is old and outdated.

What's the exact version number of the application (You can find it out by going to Help - About Adobe Acrobat)? What's your OS version?
